MBA, Version 2
Hi Philadelphia! Would you like to hear another MBA story?
My name is Carol Fastrich Aranos. I am a wife, mother, daughter, aunt, Vice President of Marketing, volunteer, Rotarian, Eastern University MBA Student and out of my mind! Why, you ask, would I add an MBA Program into my already jam-packed life? 18 months into it, I am still not really sure.
Not really, but I ask myself this question daily! I hold onto the hope that as I graduate from the program and the months ebb away; it becomes clear as a bell to me. Right now, it seems clear as mud!
Honestly though, I chose MBA to enhance my career, increase my knowledge and improve my job opportunities. Each day I remind myself that all of the hours of homework and studying will be worth it.
To date, I have 11 classes under my belt and have 2 more to go along with my New Venture Project (NVP). My NVP group is amazing, awesome, and super fun to work with. We are doing all the work to start a new business, so it is really important that they be fun to work with!
Ok, so now you know me a little bit. TaTa for now.
Mmmm…Herr’s

Our display
Well, as promised, the big event for our MBA projects was Saturday at Eastern’s main campus. We got to hear from Jim Herr first and then we had to present poster sessions on the projects we’ve been working on for the past year. Ours turned out pretty well…you can see from the picture we were looking pretty good! We had sample resumes, our financial summary, and our marketing brochure ready to hand to the judges.
It was really challenging to try and present all the salient points about our business, Ready 2 Hire, in 6 minutes. But I suppose that’s good practice for our elevator speeches. We didn’t win, but we did well.
The best part of the day, though, was…can you guess? I did mention Jim Herr was the guest speaker, right? Yes, he brought chips with him and everyone loved it.

Keep looking!
You can see I wasn’t the only person digging through the barrels.
I never did find any barbecue, though. Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks those are the best!
